UNEXPECTED LOVE-THE LOVE STORY OF SEM PART 1

The story of Sonny and Emily started when both Sonny and Emily needed someone in their lives that they could completely trust. Emily wanted to feel needed, while Sonny needed someone to lean on, as he was going through tough time in his life.Everyone thought that Michael was AJ?s killer. Jason and Sam wanted Michael to attend therapy sessions, and Sonny relented.Emily was raped by Connor, who happened to look exactly like her husband Nikolas; who was serving time in jail for the murder of his grandmother, Helena; except that she wasn?t really dead. After Nikolas got out of jail, Emily couldn?t bring herself to be close to him, but she tried. She wanted to make him happy, and she hid her pain, and shut down.

After Michael?s first therapy session, he runs out of there, and into Emily?s arms. Michael begs Sonny not to ever make him go back in there again. Sonny is heart broken over the pain his son is going through. He tells Michael he never has to go back in there ever again, and takes his son home.Emily shows up at Sonny?s home, and tries to convince him to let Michael go back to therapy, but Sonny is not relenting. He doesn?t want his son to hurt anymore. Emily opens up to Sonny about her rape, and how therapy has been helping her. Sonny tells her that he won?t make Michael do anything, but if she can convince Michael to continue therapy, he won?t stand in her way. Emily thanks him, and manages to convince Michael to attend therapy sessions.

Soon, Sonny and Emily?s friendship grew, as Emily moved into Sonny?s guest house, after her marriage fell apart. Nikolas fell in love with Courtney, while Emily continued to help Sonny take care of the boys for Sonny, as Carly was having nervous breakdown and had to be committed to Rose Lawn. Then, Sonny and Emily were caught in a train crash, which resulted in Sonny?s girlfriend, Reese Marshall?s, death. Emily blamed herself for Reese?s death, and took a sabbatical from med school. Sonny tried very hard to assure her that she was a great doctor, and eventually he was able to succeed. While unbeknownst to him, Emily was developing romantic feelings for him.
